How Should I Store My Cannabis?
Proper storage keeps your cannabis fresh, potent, and flavorful for longer. Here's how to store each type of product.
Flower
Flower is the most storage-sensitive product. Keep it in an airtight container (glass jar is ideal) in a cool, dark place. Avoid direct sunlight, heat, and humidity — all three degrade THC and dry out the buds. Room temperature or slightly below is perfect. Don't store it in the fridge or freezer — the moisture and temperature fluctuations can damage trichomes.
Edibles
Most edibles should go in the fridge, especially chocolates and baked goods. Miami heat can melt chocolates fast if left out. Gummies are more resilient but still benefit from cool storage. Always keep them in their original packaging or a sealed container.
Concentrates
Store concentrates in a cool, dark place. Keep them in their original container — most come in silicone or glass jars designed for the purpose. Avoid heat, which can change the consistency and degrade quality. A drawer or cabinet works fine.
Vapes
Vape cartridges and disposables should be stored upright in a cool spot. Don't leave them in a hot car or in direct sunlight — heat can cause leaking and degrade the oil. Room temperature is fine.
General Tips
- Keep products in their original sealed packaging until you're ready to use them
- Avoid storing in the bathroom — humidity is too high
- Keep out of direct sunlight
- Don't leave anything in your car in Miami heat
How Long Does It Last?
Properly stored flower stays good for several months. Edibles have their own expiration dates (check the package). Concentrates and vape carts can last quite a while if stored correctly. When in doubt, buy what you'll use within a few weeks.
